Exploring Objective-C programming

I used to do a lot of programming. As a young teenager I was the lucky owner of a Commodore C64 doing my best to program moving starfields and Uridium clones in assembler. Much later, during one stage of my career I was heavily involved in train traffic simulator development. This meant getting fairly proficient […]

Very busy period coming to an end

So far this year has been one of the busiest periods of my life. The winter months from january until april 1 have been literally packed with must do’s. In the mean time all my three kids had chicken pox over an extended period of five weeks, which meant that I had to work in […]

Playing with refurbished cold rolling mill

Today was a big day at the new metal forming laboratory at Dalarna University (previously mentioned in this post): After several years of talking and planning, our new cold rolling mill finally works. And I’ve spent the day playing with it to learn how it works. I and a few om my colleagues at the university […]

Ironmaking at the National museum of science and technology, Stockholm 2005

Back in 2005, I took part in an event at Tekniska museet (the National museum of science and technology) in Stockholm where we demonstrated pre–industrial Swedish and Japanese techniques for iron and sword making. Quoting another post that I wrote two weeks ago: Those of you who read Swedish may have seen that there is a […]

TV">Japanese iron and sword making on Swedish TV

Those of you who read Swedish may have seen that there is a page on my blog called “Svärdens mästare”, which translates to “Master of the swords” in English. I transferred this page without further ado from my previous web site and have yet not taken the time to translate and rework it. The page […]

Migrating from old site

I’ve started to move some content from my old website at Högskolan Dalarna. In particular this means the documentation on some bloomery furnace projects that I’ve been involved with over the past few years. You’ll find this stuff under “projects” in the menu. Mostly in Swedish so far, sorry for the inconvenience.
