Manufacturology turns one year

Manufacturology turns one year today. During that time I’ve had 13000 page views, which translates to somewhat fewer individual visitors since some view multiple pages. My first post, which was simply called Welcome, was published on January 13 2010. When I started out I had the idea and ambition to focus solely on production research. As […]

[This is an update of my previous post, “Blogging on the iPad”, which I wrote on the iPad. I’ve now edited it on my regular PC but I kept the old post unchanged in order to illustrate my points. In addition to the problems mentioned below, there were also a problem with inserting pictures, which […]

10000 page views on Manufacturology

This blog recorded its 10000’th page view last week. The number of individual visitors is slightly lower as some people view many pages during one visit.  However, most of the traffic here on Manufacturology is from search engines, and most visitors only view one page — their ‘landing page’. Therefore, I believe that the actual […]

I write like — Arthur C Clarke?

I’m proud to announce that the literary quality of this blog allegedly meets the highest possible standards. When I applied the statistical text analysis tool found at “I Write Like” on some of the most read posts on Manufacturology over the last 24 hours, I was told that my writing resembles that of Arthur C […]

92nd Four Stone Hearth blog carnival

My article about ironmaking at the Stockholm National Museum of Science and Technology (Tekniska museet) is featured in the 92nd Four Stone Hearth blog carnival which went online yesterday at Sorting Out Science. Other topics include botany at Easter Island, a newly excavated figurine seated on Odin’s high seat Hlidskjalf found in Lejre in Denmark, […]

Can blogging boost your research career?

Manufacturology turned two months. For me, becoming a blogger also meant that I had to learn to become a blog reader. Yes, I did visit a couple of blogs occasionally before I started my own, but none in my own field of expertise. Now suddenly I realised that I must keep up with what others […]

Manufacturology

It’s really hard to come up with good names. Whether it is a project, a new concept or a blog. I tried all sorts of combinations on production, strategy, manufacturing and operations. Then I visited Martin Rundkvists eminent archaeology blog called Aardvarchaeology. I envied his witty blog title and tried different “ologies” in combination with […]
